i was "larouched" today, as they called it.
it's typical to call them brainwashed, but what else could it be? and besides, who can argue with mars colonization, global warming denial, and anti-semitism? those ideas are correct, good, and absolutely foolproof!
the larouche youth movement is fucking scary. these poor kids give up everything they have, to commit all energy, money, and time to larouche. they all live in the larouche house and try to get kids to drop out of college and give up their money also. they believe in nuclear energy, and that alone is enough to condemn them, besides all their other fascist, genetically-modified rice bullshit.
but you've got to hand it to them: they've come up with the best possible way to waste your life, by far. even heroin addiction is preferable, if you ask me.
anyway, raving idiots aside, today was good. i had 3 people sign up for greenpeace.
the morality and ethics of this job are something i ponder often, usually all day as i ask people to join. i still don't have any faith in the money system or powerful government, but greenpeace is a means to a better end. and greenpeace is forcing corporations and governments to assume responsibility for their eco-crimes. it may not be exactly the way i'd do it, or the way it should be done, but it's the only way i can see, with the current global-political system, anything getting done. it's either sitting around "should"-ing or working with what we have. and i'd rather have a planet with which to work than just a great idea.
i know this:
-defeatism is pure, unadulterated bullshit.
-ideas are great, but are worthless unless realized, are only realized through action.
-capitalism is the most evil idea to have ever been realized on the planet.
in conclusion, coffee ice cream is my favorite thing in the entire world.
